Convening the Frontier: Geneva's Role in AI Diplomacy
As AI capabilities advance at unprecedented speed, governance discussions are multiplying across capitals, companies, and international organisations. Yet the hardest questions remain unresolved. How can existing governance structures keep pace with the technology? What role should AI companies play in shaping the rules? What is needed to enable international cooperation that ensures safety and shared benefits?
This session explores what Switzerland, and Geneva in particular, can offer in answering these questions. Home to a unique ecosystem of international actors, combined with technical and diplomatic expertise, Geneva is well placed to convene crucial conversations. Maude Morrison, Julia Chen and Nina Frey will discuss how Swiss and Geneva-based actors are already facilitating dialogues on AI, and why their role is set to become more important still.
